It's amazing!
I like the weight of X61, but cannot stand the LCD.
I am with X61T, but it weight 0.5kg more than X61.
it will be well enough to install X61T's 1400X1050 AFFS LCD on X61.
Hope the reslolution will be opened.

Dear wu0232. In my experence. you can modify bios code for M9. You can extract M9 code from t42's bios.

you should modify m9 code ( offset address , video bios checksum etc). After modification, you should use a prepare.exe

to generate *.mod. After that , compare m7's code size with m9's code size. If code size is different, modify m9 code.

( After modification, calculate video bios checksum.) If you complete to modify m9 code, copy and paste at replacement location of original bios code. After that , Calculate global checksum.!!!!!

I see japanese guy's x60/x61's modification at yahoo auction. ( It is not perfect since you can use a bluetooth daughter card in case of x61. After installing bluetooth card and activate bluetooth card on windows xp and boot up again, system is died .)

If you give a futher information, you can use a T42's bios code for M9 feasibility test. ( Only reflash t42's bios and use a x31's embedded controller). after reflash t42's bios and hardware moficiation for sxga+ as you already know, you can see sxga+ display screen . It is only for feasibility test. For perfect operation, you should modify bios code.

the positon of screws are as same as normal xga LCD ?

You should mofiy LCD frame of HV121p01-100. For installation, you should refer to x40 affs installation on this forum.

It is almost same. But there is one difference. Modify antenna ( Cutting groud position of x61 antenna )

If you don't cut a ground position, you can't install sxga+. If you buy lcd screen from lenovo, you remove wacom digitizer panel and protection surface.

yes ,i can installed the SXGA AFFS in X40,but i can not installed the SGXA+ AFFS in my X40~~must modify the bios....oh my god!!!

you can unzip the bios “***.exe” by winrar and you will find it..........

This attachment is a first experimental image of LCD cable modification. After seeing a feasiblity of modification cable, I did make a final modification cable.
