X31的SXGA+应该不难

아이비엠 X31에 SXGA+스크린 설치는 간단하다고 여기는데
BIOS는 그리 뭐 수정할 정도로 필요가 없고 하드위어상 조금 수정함 될껏같아요.

O.K.... I understand what you mean. In my guess , My opinion is different from your guess. Of course , I know that all the resolution code is included in OPROM0.rom or OPROM1.rom of x31. ( I have already checked this code in oprom0 ).... As though LCD resoultion is controlled by hardware detection circuit ( LCDID[3] ), there is a firmware code for this........LCD resoultion is not controlled by EDID in case of t42,t43,x31,x40 etc. Since state of LCD's EDID pin is open.
If you install 12.1" sxga+ on x31 with original bios ( as though you modify hardware lcd id detection jumper) ,you can't get a 1400x1050 resoultion without revision of x31's bios firmware and get a splited display screen
I don't know that xiejixiang modify bios code for sxga+ ( At a glance , I guess that the screen shot uploaded by xiejixiang at his thread is almost similiar to that of screen shot when I flashed t42's original bios code on x31......)
Of course If I can get his bios code, I can determine that he modify bios code or not.

这个改bios, 问题就是一旦升级就要再改, 所以一定要掌握彻底的方法才行.

First, you agree with me about T42 detects resolution based on jumpers, right?

Second, in the Version 3.02 BIOS of X31, OPROM0 is for M6, OPROM1 is for M7; while in the BIOS of T42, OPROM0 is for M6, OPROM1 is for M7 ( OPROM2 is for M9, OPROM3 is for M10) .  They are totally same , including the high resolution Code.

Third,  xiejixiang mentions, " he just extracts video code of T42 from its BIOS... then combines it with X31's BIOS...". he doesn't mention about any modification... Based on these, I guess his new BIOS is equal to no-modification.

In sum, I guess there is no need to modify X31's BIOS Code....

Dear wu0232.

As you already know, Video bios code ( OPROM.ROM ) is the same as thinkpad T42. ..... If it is true that he just extracts video code of T42 from its BIOS... then combines it with X31's BIOS, It may not be true.....If you should investigate screen shot uploaded by xiejixiang in detail, you know that it is not true... since you can't get such a intel pentium M logo in x31' 3.02 bios. Intel pentium M logo on T42's latest bios is different from that on x31's latest bios. Intel Pentium M logo on his screen shot is the same to that of T42........ We cannot get such a logo on x31's bios as though video bios code (OPROM.ROm) of T42's partial bios is combined with X31's bios.

It is only my guess. My guess may be wrong.

Yes ... When I flashed x31's 3.02 bios , Pentium M logo is different from that . When I flashed into T42's bios on x31,
I can get a this logo.... Of course, My guess may be false......... A few minutes ago, after I flashed x31's 3.02 bios and hardware modification, I see screen image....( I can get a Splited image......)

In my opinion, high resolution code should be only placed in OPROM...

LOGO is not related with SXGA+ Modification, there is no need for xiejixiang to just change the LOGO
