　　　　　Alanis Morissette是加拿大在上个世纪九十年代中期涌现出的一名女子摇滚乐的超级明星，至今仍然是加拿大女歌手中最具有象征意义的代表人物之一。Alanis Morissette自幼星光一片坦途，但是多才的她一直以来都在不断的寻求突破，多次转型，并且每次都非常成功，并在音乐上最终成为最成功的摇滚女歌手之一。同时，Alanis Morissette最为成功的专辑《Jagged Little Pill》则是一张具有重要意义的90年代女子摇滚乐标志性专辑，而她本人也获得多项加拿大最权威的音乐奖Juno奖，并且先后获得了七次格莱美奖。

　　　　　1974年6月1日，Alanis Morissette出生在加拿大的渥太华，极富艺术才华的她在很小的时候就开始练习弹钢琴，并且开始自己创作歌曲。在Alanis Morissette十岁的时候，她第一次成为了明星，当时她在儿童电视系列片《You Can't Do That on Television》参加了演出，因为成功扮演了一个假小子式的淘气女孩而成名。在该电视节目拍摄中，Alanis Morissette开始着迷于音乐，并且在电视节目完成之后利用表演所得，以独立方式录制了个人的第一首单曲《Fate Stay With Me》，并且在十岁的时候发行。离开电视荧幕之后，Alanis Morissette专注于音乐事业的发展，并且在14岁的时候得到了第一份音乐合同。

　　　　　在经过了相当一段时间的精心锻造之后，1995年，Alanis Morissette的第三张个人专辑《Jagged Little Pill》在著名女明星麦当娜(Madonna)的Maverick Records唱片公司正式发行，音乐创作由Alanis Morissette主导。在这张专辑发行之后不久，她的单曲《You Oughta Know》很快就在电台和媒体引起了巨大的关注，由于频频的被播放，专辑《Jagged Little Pill》很快在美国成为了一种现象，这张专辑很快进入了Billboard 200排行榜的前十名，并且成为了冠军，随后的三支单曲《Hand in My Pocket》《All I Really Want》《Ironic》也极受欢迎，让这张专辑的销量居高不下，连续长达11个月的时间高居排行榜前十名内，到1996年，这张专辑的销量已经达到了令人瞠目的1400万张！这张出色的专辑所取得的成功远不止是局限于商业上，作为一名加拿大歌星，22岁的Alanis Morissette在当年的第38届格莱美颁奖典礼上获得了6项大奖的提名，并且最终凭借专辑《Jagged Little Pill》和单曲《You Oughta Know》获得了年度最佳专辑(Album Of The Year)，最佳摇滚乐专辑(Best Rock Album)，最佳摇滚歌曲(Best Rock Song)，最佳摇滚女歌手(Best Female Rock Vocal Performance)共计四项大奖，并且在两年后的第40届格莱美颁奖典礼上，凭借《Jagged Little Pill - Live》获得了最佳长篇录影带奖(Best Long Form Music Video)。专辑《Jagged Little Pill》成为了这一时期女子流行摇滚乐专辑的最杰出代表，而这张专辑所取得的巨大成功，也标志着Alanis Morissette已经完成了从小童星到流行舞曲女歌手再到摇滚女歌手的转型。
