　　《Skye Boat Song》的旋律在很久之前就出现于赫布里底群岛，而其歌词直至 19 世纪才有。歌词大意讲述了 Charlie 王子于 Culloden Moor 战败之后，几个忠心的渔夫在风雨交加中帮助他渡过 South Uist 岛和 Skye 岛之间波涛汹涌的大海的故事。这首曲子也许是王子内心的独白吧：战场的失意、大海里的狂风暴雨还有生死未卜的前程……
　　
　　歌曲一开始就用带有强烈的南太平洋原著民色彩的鼓点来传递声音，水晶般澄澈透明的竖琴和着低低的大提琴声音让人的心情沉醉，然后伴着若有若无的和声引领出 Paul Schwartz 干净，纯洁的声音。
　　
　　她优美如精灵般清澈的嗓音在天际飘荡，渐行渐远的和声飘渺如同耳语，仿佛一个原始部落的民众在圣女的带领下，一起向天祈福……

　　这首歌的原唱者是美国六七十年代相当出名的民谣歌手 Judy Collins，也有不少人翻唱过这首歌，后来这首歌也成了莎拉·布莱曼每次演唱会的保留曲目。

　　这首《Sailing》是电影《哥仑布传》的插曲，我非常喜欢的一首歌。听着 Bryan Adams 沙哑的嗓音淋漓尽致地表现了这首歌沧桑的意境（原唱是 Rod Stewart）－－主人公在与暴风雨搏斗了几天几夜后，在黑暗的茫茫的大海上，筋疲力尽的坐在甲板上向他心上的人儿倾诉。
　　
　　这歌让我感动！现在听来，还是别有沧桑的意味：人生如歌，听着听着，我们将老去了。可记忆中总会留下美好的回忆，正如天空划过的流星，瞬间便是永恒。

　　一首古老的外国歌谣——Windflowers，风飞花，又叫风信子。在希腊神话中，有几则关于风信子的传说：
　　
　　一说太阳神阿波罗与宙斯的外孙许阿辛托斯很要好，西风神很妒忌，在一次阿波罗投掷铁饼时，西风神把铁饼吹向了许阿辛托斯的头部，血液从许阿辛托斯的头中流出，长出了一株鲜花，就是风信子。
　　
　　还有一说是关于爱神维纳斯的——维纳斯一直爱慕山中打猎的美少年，于是告诫他：不要去冒犯那些凶猛的野兽，他是她的幸福，她不希望他拿生命去冒险。但是，骄傲的少年似乎更珍视自己的荣誉，终于，他在一场猎杀中被野猪刺死——他的英姿能使神祗为他着迷，却不能打动兽类的心。
　　
　　当维纳斯赶到他身边时，他的尸体已在血泊中冰冷。她哀嚎着发誓：“从今后每一年都要重温一次你的死亡和我的哀悼。你的鲜血将化成花朵，作为我哀伤的标志。”她将酒洒在血泊里，酒渗到血里，泛出气泡，仿佛雨滴落入水池，慢慢的，一朵殷红如血的花朵平地而生，此花经风一吹花苞就吐蕊，再一阵风，花瓣就飘零。
